The lottery news stories in this video include: 1) A woman who won $115 million from EuroMillions in 2019 says she has given away over half of her winnings. She’s a former social worker and teacher who has gone on to set up two foundations supporting the elderly, refugees and others in need. She estimates that she’s given away around $60 million, but she’s not counting!
2) An Iowa man recently won $1 million dollars from Mega Millions after the clerk made a mistake in ringing up his tickets. The man asked for 5 easy picks, but the clerk accidentally rang up only 1 ticket instead. He then printed the remaining tickets, but the one that actually won was the first ticket that was printed by mistake. The winner said that he doesn’t usually consider himself a lucky person. He’s quoted as saying, “I feel like that changed the numbers that I would have gotten if he had put them all on one instead of making that mistake.”
3) Would you take a bump for $10 million dollars? In April of 2022, a woman in Los Angeles, California won $10 million dollars after being bumped! She was at a vending machine trying to purchase lottery tickets when a stranger bumped into her. She’s quoted as calling this person “rude.” The bump caused her to purchase a Lottery Scratchers ticket by accident. She’s quoted as saying, “I didn’t really believe it at first, but I got on the 405 freeway and kept looking down at [the ticket], and I almost crashed my car,” she said. “I pulled over, looked at it again and again, scanned it with my app, and I just kept thinking, ‘This can’t be right.'” Lucky for her, it was right; it was a $10 million-dollar bump!
4) In Belgium, an undocumented migrant recently won 250,000 euros on the lottery. However, he’s not being allowed to redeem the ticket without official documentation. The 28-year-old wants to claim the prize anonymously to avoid those who may disapprove of his undocumented status or who might seek money. His attorney says there is camera evidence showing that he purchased the ticket, but he’s still not being allowed to redeem it until he has proper identification. The ticket expires in one year; let’s hope he gets his papers in time!
5) A man in Newcastle, NSW believes that he manifested a $4.8 million jackpot! In November of 2021, the lucky Australian lottery winner is quoted as saying, “It’s funny, because on the day I bought this ticket, I just had this overwhelming feeling that I was going to win division one.” He then said, “I follow the law of attraction and have done for years, and so I really feel as though I manifested this win.”
